EMERGENCY NUMBERS
European Emergency Number
112 is the European emergency number you can dial free of charge from fixed and mobile phones everywhere in the EU. It will get you straight through to the emergency services – police, ambulance, fire brigade. National emergency numbers are still in use too, alongside 112. But 112 is the only number you can use to access the emergency services in all EU countries.

You can dial them free of charge from fixed and mobile phones everywhere in Hungary.
- ambulance: 104 -This number should be called only in the case of serious emergency in life-threatening situations (e.g. serious bleeding, loss of consciousness, serious accident, toxication, etc.).In case of an emergency that is not life-threatening, you can consult a doctor on duty at the local district medical emergency office closest to your domicile .
- fire brigade:105

Healthcare Services at the MEDICAL CENTER
The Medical Centre is located on the ground floor in building T, but the main entrance is accessible from the side of building H, through the yard linking the two buildings together (see at the map of the University : <https://www.bme.hu/egyetem-terkepe>).
During coronavirus pandemic medical services are restricted.

What to do in the event of an accident happening on the premises of the University :
affecting a student:
While urgently performing basic first aid procedures, the safety expert of Department of Property and Institute Safety must be informed as soon as possible (Phone numbers: +36/1/463-3762, +36/1/469-1556, 463-2092, +36(30)306-4806).
In case an ambulance need to be called due to serious, life-threatening accident, the operator of the Dispatcher Service at the Department of Property and Institute Safety must be informed at the same time about the situation. (Phone number:+36/1/463-4444). Changing anything on the accident scene is forbidden for the sake of recording the incident properly. In order to investigate the case thoroughly and to prevent a similar accident happening again, the help and the contact details of the witnesses might be useful and necessary.
In case an accident happening on the premises of the dormitories, it must be reported to the receptionist on duty, and there the incident must be recorded properly in the Accident Register with all necessary data and contact details.
